Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet Bowl Cleaner Review

I always cringed at the thought of having to clean the toilet, but not any more. I tried the new SC Johnson product that helps with that task, without having to get down and dirty. That product is Scrubbing Bubbles One Step Toilet bowl cleaner, and it's made cleaning a breeze for me, and I no longer fear having to do it. This great new invention actually keeps the toilet bowl clean for you. All you need to do is start with a clean toilet, hook up the nozzle to the side of your toilet, and the lightly tap the foot paddle twice a day. Scrubbing Bubbles One Step uses a 360 degree action sprayer to cover the whole bowl. I could not believe how clean my toilet now looks. No more toilet ring marks, or lime scale. It's truly an amazing product. Also the fresh mountain morning scent, makes the toilet smell wonderful. Plus, the device is discreet and fits easily next to your toilet. What is wonderful about Scrubbing Bubbles One Step at the local grocery store and mass department stores. The cost is only $9.99 for the starter kit and you get a base, sprayer, and one refill can. or buy the refill can for only $4.99. Great prices for a product that makes cleaning your toilet easier, and you'll have more time to relax and spend time with your family. The Refill cans last up to 30 days. Overall I would give this product 5 stars :)

Reign of Madness by Lynn Cullen

Currently I am reading Reign of Madness by Lynn Cullen.  It's about Katherine of Aragon's sister Juana of Castile.  I am half way through this book, and it's been very hard to put it down.  It's gripping right from the start, especially if you are interested in this period of history.  I personally love the Tudor era of history, so this was a very good choice of book for me.     I hope that it will continue being as gripping in the second half.  I'll let you know, when I am finishing reading.

Cuisinart Smart Stick

Up for review on BzzAgent today is the Cuisinart Smart Stick Hand blender.  I am totally excited about reviewing this product, since I've heard really good things about it from my friends.   They have said it's made blending a lot more easier and faster.

My friend told me that it's awesome for making soup.  She used it right in the pot to blend up the ingredients.  And she said it makes wonderful, quick and delicious fruit smoothies.  I've also learned from her, that it's quick and easy to clean.  WONDERFUL, if you ask me.  I hate having to take a long time to clean something.

Month Update...

Wow, so it's been nearly a month since I last updated my blog.  Cannot believe it's been that long....  I guess you could say a lot has happened in that month's time.  My HS is finally under control, and the doctor's have it nearly in remission, which I am super pleased about.  I've had my birthday, and it was awesome.  My guy took a whole week off work to spend time with me, which was great.  We got to go out to a restaurant, which was a treat because I haven't been to a restaurant in 3 years, due to pain from my condition.

I felt so blessed this year for my birthday, I received 31 birthday cards from friends around the world.  It was truly a wonderful and lovely surprise, to get so many birthday greetings in my mail box, when today most people seem to rely on digital cards.  Call me old fashion, but I still enjoy receiving snail mail cards.

I finally got my Petrol jeans, and they are really nice.  Truly it was quite an ordeal to get them.  UPS wanted me to pay a surcharge on them, when they first arrived of $31.50, and I sent them back to the company.  Then the company was nice enough to cover the fee, that UPS wanted for the jeans.  So I finally got them, right before my birthday, which was a nice surprise.

St.Patrick's Day, I spent with W, and we had a lot of fun.  I am of Irish ancestry and he is of Polish ancestry.  I dressed our dog up in an Irish outfit, he truly looked super cute, hehe...although I really don't think he enjoyed it that much, oh well it made me smile.

I have also been asked to review another product.  This time it's Sublime Mousse from L'Oreal.  The company sent me a coupon for me to go and pick out what colour I wanted to try.  So, I have picked Medium Blond  I wonder what I will look like, after I've coloured my hair....*fingers crossed*

Till next time...

Aquafina Plus Vitamins 10CAL REVIEW

Aquafina Plus+ Vitamins 10 Cal Enhanced Water is a great product. The first one I tried was Black & Blue berry, the smell when I first opened the bottle was very pleasing to me, and it made me want to know what it tasted like. Now, I am very picky about what I drink, and when I did taste it, I was very happy that it had a wonderful sweet taste to it, and you do not need to worry about sugar, because it's sweeten naturally. Which is a plus for me, because I have to watch my sugar intake. So, it's a great product for people that have to watch how much sugar they are in taking. Also great for people that have a hard time drinking plain water, like myself. I found this a wonderful alternative to having to flavor my water with powders. The Fuji Apple Pear, and the Strawberry Lemonade are also tasty. I also found that after drinking the Aquafina Plus+ Vitamins 10 Cal Enhanced Water, for nearly 2 weeks I found that the antioxidant vitamins were making me feel better. This is a product I have already started recommending to my friends and family. Overall, Great product :)

Early Birthday Surprises

I received a lovely birthday gift today from a friend in India.  My birthday is not until March 12, so I was surprised when I went to the mailbox this morning, and found this lovely gift.   My friend sent me two pairs of earrings, a wonderful birthday card, a 3D picture of Krishna, Hello Kitty pen, a brooch and two bookmarks.  She truly spoiled me :)

Vintage Postcards from France 1900 - 1920

Today I was lucky to receive 6 unused vintage postcards from a friend in the USA.  They are from France and are between the years of 1900 - 1920.  I wish I knew more about them, because I just love history, and would love to know the history of these postcards.  My friend didn't know any more information on them, which is too bad.  If anyone would be able to help me with these vintage postcards it would be much appreciated...please leave a comment, if you know anything about vintage postcards.

Stella Artois Chalice Set

I joined La Société Stella Artois, and you can get some great prizes from them once you've collected enough points.  The first thing, I turned my points in for was a Stella Artois Pouring kit, with 4 glasses, bottle opener, foam cutter, and book.  The next item I turned my points in for, was two passes to Cinaplex Theatre's.  The next was a Godfather DVD.  Now, I had no problem getting the tickets or the DVD, but the Pouring Kit took 4 months to get here.  I was seriously starting to doubt that I would even receive it.

But last week UPS showed up at my door carrying a big box with "Stella Artois" on it.  I was so pleased to see it, after waiting for it.  I was very impressed when I opened the box and found a lovely set.  It was well worth waiting for.  So, if you are interested in joining the Stella Artois Club here is the link: http://www.lasocietestellaartois.com/

Postcards from Italy and USA

Today, I was lucky to receive 4 lovely postcards from my friends in Italy, Cape Cod and L.A.  My favourite postcard I received today is a postcard of J.F.K.  So far, it's one of my favourite postcards of 2011 :)   I was very excited to open the envelope from my friend and find it in there.

President John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States, sailing the Manitou off the coast of Cape Cod.

Hoxie House, Sandwich Cape Cod, Massachusetts - High on a knoll overlooking Shawme Lake in the center of Sandwich sits the Hoxie House (1637).  The Hoxie House is generally to be the oldest house on Cape Cod.

Pope BenedictXVI Rome

Philippe, The Original - 1001 North Alameda Street Los Angeles, CA - When Visiting Los Angeles be sure not to miss a visit to the world famous "home of the French dip sandwich".  Origninated in 1908.  Philippe's has been owned and operated by the same family for over 80 years.  With over 1.5 million people visiting each year, Phillippe's has become a historical landmark and generational treasure. 1 million fresh baked French rolls are served annually with 300,000 pounds of choice beef, 70,000 pounds of pork, 120,00 pounds of New Zealand spring leg of lamb, and 22,000 pounds of turkey, all slow roasted to perfection.  Don't forget Philippe's housemade "hot but good" mustard on your sandwich.  Other items not to be missed are Philippe's 10 cent cup of coffee, seasonal baked apples and other delicious desserts.  An adventure in good eating.

Valentines Day Card from 1920

This card was given to my grandmother when she was 5 years old from my great-grandmother.  It was treasured by my grandmother, and it was passed on to me after my grandmother passed away.  I have placed it in a clear plastic sheet protector to make sure that it does not get damaged.  I figured to add it on my blog since it's so close to Valentines Day, and show off a nice vintage Valentines card. I hope you enjoy it :)

Aquafina Plus Vitamins 10CAL

Today I received my first official product to review from Divine.ca.  I am so excited to be one of 75 people reviewing this product.  The company sent 6 - 591mL bottles to test over the next 2 weeks.  The flavours they sent are Black & Blue Berry, Strawberry Lemonade, and Fuji Apple Pear.  In 2 weeks time the company will send me an email with a link so I can give me review on the product.  I have already started drinking the Black & Blue Berry one, and it's very tasty.  I think I am going to enjoy reviewing this product.

California Dreaming on such a winter's day...

Today was a pretty good mail day for me.  I finally received my parcel from my friend in California, been waiting nearly 2 weeks for it.  I was very excited about receiving it, because it had some chocolate I wanted to try.  Japanese Kit Kat's that are Cheese flavoured.  I honestly thought they would be quite disgusting, but I was pleasantly surprised that they actually taste pretty good.  You really cannot taste the cheese, but you can sure smell the cheese, when you first open the package.

My friend also sent me a lovely Three Stooges magnet.  It's something you cannot get in Canada, and I just love the Three Stooges.  I honestly think it's one of my favourite magnets in my collection.

I also received a lovely fan pack from the L.A. Lakers.  It was truly a surprise, because I did not figure they were going to send anything, as I had wrote an email, but they never wrote back, so I figured they would not be sending anything, so it was a lovely surprise to see that in my mail box today.

Petrol Jeans Contest on Facebook - Update!!

The Petrol Jean contest on Facebook was not a scam :)  I am quite happy about that.  I was quite worried for awhile, but I have won a pair of jeans, and I am quite happy about that.  I received the notification that I will be receiving them in 10 to 14 days, really happy about that.

A lot of people are bitter about not winning the jeans, and writing some very rude comments on the Petrol Jeans fanpage.  I honestly think this is immature, and just being a sore loser.  This one guy is stalker their page, and writing such mean and rude comments to all the winners, it's just pathetic.

Shall write more, once I receive my jeans :)  Thank you Petrol for hosting such a wonderful contest :)

Black History Month Postcard!

My friend on Facebook wanted to collect postcards of Black History, since February is Black History month, and since my city has a Black History monument, I decided to do a trade with him.  He sent me a love postcard in return of a monument in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Battle Creek, Michigan is home for the world's largest sculpture honoring the thousands of southern slaves and fugitives who fled north during the 1840's and 1850's. Traveling by night hiding in barns and basement hide-a-ways by day, the movement was know as the Underground Railroad. Sojourner Truth was born as a slave in 1797. Speaking out for justice and human rights and especially for the abolition of slavery, she became the most famous African -American woman in the 19th century.

Snowy Day!

Today was a snow day in my city, nearly everything was closed, or canceled.  Even my dog didn't want to go outside today in the snow, I had to shove his bum out the door this morning.  It took forever for the snowplows to get around to clear the roads and sidewalks out.  The Postal service was even canceled today.  Which was frustrating to me, because I have a mail addiction, lol, and was truly hoping to get some mail today.  I am currently waiting for quite a few packages to arrive.  Hopefully, they will soon arrive.

This was the view from my front window this morning.  The snow was blowing quite a lot first thing this morning.

I honestly didn't think today was going to be a very exciting day.  I have spent most of the day on the couch, either reading my book or watching TV, and then I got the most awesome email.  I had signed up to review a product, and the company said they were only going to pick 75 people to try it out, and I received the email saying I was one of the 75 people they have chosen to review Aquafina Plus Water.  I'm totally excited, this will be my first official review for a company :) This has made up for not getting any mail today.  So, watch for my up coming review on Aquafina Plus water.

Melitta Coffee

A few weeks ago Melitta Coffee was generous and offered 10 lucky winners a day, a free coupon to get their coffee.  I have never tried Melitta and I figured to give it a try, when the company was offering their product free.  I was one of the lucky winners that got a bag of Coffee. I received my coupon on Monday, and yesterday I went and got myself a bag of the Costa Rican Tarrazu Roast and Ground Coffee.

I made myself a pot of it this morning, and was pleasantly surprised by the flavour, and smoothness of it.  It also wasn't as bitter as the coffee I normally drink, so I was quite happy about that.  It was like a dance in mouth, and was a great addition to my morning breakfast.  Also I was starting to get a lot of gas from my normal brand of coffee, and the Melitta coffee didn't cause me any problems at all.

Another great thing about Melitta is it's organic coffee and free trade.  I would recommend this brand to my friends and family.  It normal retails for $13.99 but well worth the price.  I am a very happy I tried Melitta.

Cesar Bistro Gourmet Dining Kit

Today, I was surprised when the Canada Post delivery truck showed up with a Cesar Bistro Gourmet Dining Kit for my dog.  It was very quick in coming, it was part of a Facebook promotion for the new Cesar Bistro food.  I signed up for it on Friday, and today the kit arrived.  I was very impressed.

It can with a sample of the New Cesar Bistro wet food, a Cesar brand dining mat, handkerchief, a plate, and a serving spoon.  It was truly a great freebie, and the spoon was very good quality and very heavy.

Tonight, I decided to give my dog some of the Cesar Bistro food for dinner, and he just ate it all up.  He normally is a picky eater, and it takes him four minutes or more to eat his meal, but the Cesar Bistro was gone in less than 2 minutes.  So, I can say he truly enjoyed it.  It looks like I've found a new food for him, so I will be buying it when it goes on sale in early February.

First Postcards for 2011

I received my first lot of postcards for 2011 today.  They are from California and India.  I just love receiving snail mail from friends around the world.  Here are the postcards I received today:

California Missions: The founding of the Spanish Missions in California furnished an epic in history.  These historical monuments are reminders of the great Franciscan adventure.  Years of patient labor, decades of heroic sacrifice by Fray Junipers Serra and his Franciscan brothers lie behind the era of the founding of the 21 Missions and their branches, the ruins of which still stand in wonder and beauty, at various points along 600 miles of California's glorious coastal region.

Santa Monica, California - The Santa Monica Municipal Pier was built in 1908 - 1909, for the purpose of carrying a city sewer line to the sea.  In 1916, Charles Looff built the adjacent "Pleasure Pier" with it's "Hippodrome" & "Blue Streak" roller coaster.  The La Monica ballroom was added in 1924 & was the largest on the west coast.  In 1934 the breakwater was built; water taxis ferried people to gambling ships moored in the bay.  In 1973 the city council voted to demolish both piers. Citizens countered with a "Save our Piers Forever" initiative & a restoration was begun.  1983, severe winter storms demolished much of both piers, the newly created pier restoration corp. rebuilt them to their original grandeur adding a harbor patrol office & historic photo exhibits at the piers end.  Today, Santa Monica's historic pleasure piers still draws crowds.

The Three Stooges - one of my favourite comic acts :)

Bruce Lee - another great postcard from my friend in California

The Vancouver 2010 mascots and their sidekicks.

California the Golden State.

Bala Krishna from my friend in India.

Those are my great postcards I received today from my friends.  Hopefully, I will receive some more great mail from around the world, and be able to share it on my blog.

Petrol Jeans Contest on Facebook

Right now until January 31, Petrol Jeans is holding a contest for USA and Canada residence.  You have to refer 20 of your friends, and get them to nominate your name in order to win a free pair of jeans.  I entered this contest, but I really don't know how it's going to work out.  As a lot of people are referring friends, so they are either going to have to give away a lot of jeans, or have a cut off some where.  I truly hope this is an honest contest because I'd love to get a new pair of jeans for free, but I guess we will have to wait and see.  People will not be contacted until February 1.  I have my doubts, because the page says they will contact you via email, but they do have anywhere to enter your email.  Shall keep you updated on whether this was an honest contest or whether it was a scam to get people to join their fan page.  What do you think?  Do you think I will get the jeans?

Zupreem - First Contest Win of 2011

Before last year, I never bothered entering contests because I figured they were a waste of my time...  But last year I joined a forum called Canada Free Stuff, and I got myself interested in entering contests, and getting freebies/samples from companies in the mail.  It becomes very addictive after awhile, lol.

A lot of the contests I have won are from Blogs or Facebook.  I am surprised how many contests, giveaways, etc...are actually held on Facebook, and most of the time you have a good chance at winning, because not too many people have entered.

Last year this is what I won, Ring, Two fashion necklaces, Sock monkey, Romantic evening, and For The King's Favor by Elizabeth Chadwick.  Not too bad considering I didn't start entering contests until September.

My first contest win of 2011 was from Zupreem, they posted a contest on International Birds day, you had to post a picture of your bird celebrating, so I posted a picture of my red bellied parrot.  And we won :)   It was supposed to be for a $25 dollar visa card, but since I live in Canada I was unable to have it (oh well) and they shipped some bird food, bird cookies, a shopping bag and thermal mug, which I was very happy with.  I am going to post some pictures of the things that Zupreem sent, and I didn't have to wait months or weeks to get my prize.  It was at my door in 3 days after the contest, I thought that was awesome.   I am very happy with Zupreem, and how well they handled my contest win.

Plush Animals From Around The World

I've been collecting Teddy Bears nearly all my life.  I just love how soft and cuddly they are, and it is so hard for me to turn one down when I am out shopping.  But I've met some really great people from around the world that have help me add to my Teddy bear collection, some people have even sent me other plush animals, and I truly appreciate everything that everyone sends me.  So, I thought I would share a few of the animals I have received so far from around the world.

This cute little boy bear came from the USA.  He was the first bear I received from a different country.  This is the guy that started my obsession for wanting to collect bears from other countries, lol.

This little girl bear came from a friend in Germany.  She is so adorable and sits in my hands :)

This little guy came from a friend in Italy.  He's t-shirt explains which part of Italy he's from :)

This adorable plush cat came from a friend in Trinidad.  He is actually quite big, and very soft.

This bear came from Poland, he was a Christmas present from a friend.  He is so adorable :)

I'm very happy with my international plush animals.  I hope that I will be able to add some more in the future.

Caramilk

Just went to check my Facebook, and noticed that Caramilk was giving away 100 bags of their new Caramilk Secret, and I am happy to say that I was one of the 100 that got a bag, yippy.  I am such a chocoholic, and will be so happy to try the new Caramilk out.  Stay tuned for a review and posts when I receive this product :)
